Drugim co do wielkości miasto na Litwie w Kownie (populacja 373. 700), położone u zbiegu Niemna i Wilii, w kraju dwóch rzek największych. Była to stolica Litwy w okresie międzywojennym w 1920-1940, ale w historii miasta rozpoczął się w 13. wieku, kiedy to największy bastion kamień na Litwie został zbudowany tutaj. Ataki przez krzyżowców wyblakłe na początku 15 wieku i Kowno ożywił. Szybko stało się ważnym centrum handlowym i dużym portem rzecznym. Dziś, ponad 420 tysięcy ludzi mieszka w Kownie. |

A hand made beauty of this historical center is added by picturesque natural landscapes. Kaunas stands at the junction of two main rivers in Lithuania: Neman and Nyaris. |
