Grand Trunk Railway building (GTR) built in Belleville 1855, now a VIA station and it is being replaced after 157 years. The railway was originally called the Toronto and Kingston Railway (T&KR) but was owned by GTR. The VIA passenger trains run on tracks owned by Canadian National (CN).

The Mercantile Thoughtful Gifts, 1895.
Country Store, 1865. A curious mix of stone and brick was the result of rebuilding after a fire in 1889. Limestone has a high water content and too much heat can crack it.
This bridge dates from 1903 when the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR) double tracked it's 1855 line from Montreal to Toronto. It went bankrupt 1923, and it was taken over by CNR in 1923, and was later called CN. This bridge also carries VIA passenger cars between Ottawa and Montreal to Toronto.

This little valley runs along the 175 million year old 100 km. long Salmon River fault line. There are a half dozen major parallel ancient fault lines crossing the county, all run NE to SW. They are no longer active. For pictures of the fault line, go to Forest Mills 5 km. SW of Roblin On. You can follow it a long way in the satellite photo, but it is burried by glacial till in many places.
