The worst hostel ever! They over pack the rooms! They don't clean that often! There are bedbugs! So glad this place shut down!

I normally never give a rating but after reading some terrible comments here, I decided to write one this time. Sure, the hostel is not the cleanest hostel I have ever seen, you can only lock your stuff outside (I just did not lock it) and everything is rundown. You should know all those negative points before going there and if you prefer a very clean and nice hostel in Denver you should go to hostel Fish as far as I heard from other travelers. But keep in mind that the International Youth Hostel's price is just unbeatable! I am happy that there are still hostels like this and for someone who likes to spend money on other things than the cleanliness of a place where one stays only over night or just does not has a lot of money should chose this place. I met some nice and interesting people there and I never felt insecure. The hostel is very close to a pizza place, two bus stations and a supermarket and I would go there again if I would just need a cheap place to stay overnight close to downtown Denver.

Rooms are ok.. updating the hotel and the amenities is a huge need.. esp being so cloes to the city.. this hostel, the 11th ave, and even the 20th Street needs a huge make over and new management -give it time and i will totally take them all over :)

Great customer service though for sure :)

The worst hostel ever. Stay away from here. This hostel is mostly for local people who don't have any other places to sleep. I felt unsafe at all times and saw some people did drugs in the room. Some people started screaming at midnight while they got mad at a woman who was noisily snoring whole night. And I could't sleep at all because of noise and scare. I also found out a woman who did drugs lived there for a while and have stayed at the room whole days. When the sun showed up, I got out of the room immediately and so did a local old woman who stayed there for first time. I had the scariest experience in my life. DON'T STAY HERE!
