I have been going to Wax by Claudia on James Island for over year and never had a problem. I also used IPL hair removal in North Charleston and was very happy with it. But the Mount Pleasant location let me down twice and I've been to this location three times.

The first time, I was let down by this location I received IPL treatment. My previous experiences in the North Charleston location were successful. However since I moved to MtP, I figured I would try this location as it was much closer. The treatment I received at this location was a waste of time and money. A very low dose level was used even though I shared with my "specialist" I received treatment at their NC place before. There was no difference in my hair when I left the place, then when I came in. I was annoyed by the experience and not had an IPL treatment at Claudia since then. I chose another place closer to me who actually knew what they were doing.

My second unpleasant experience occurred due to a scheduling issue handled very carelessly. I made an appointment to have two waxing treatments done, but by the end of the first my treatment I was told " Ok, all finished." When I mentioned I wanted another treatment I was told " No, we are out of time." This confused me, because I didn't know I made reservations by time, I thought I was supposed to make them by treatment. I said thank you and went to the counter to pay. At the counter, I mentioned that I couldn't get my second treatment done because Maria told we didn't have time . At this point behind a curtain Maria yelled out "I CAN HEAR YOU". It is wonderful to find out your ears work, however you don't need to share that with your clients when you are listening in on them. She then joined us in the waiting room to show her tablet that there was only one treatment scheduled, to which Monique responded with surprise. Monique then proceeded to show her how to click on her schedule app to see what treatments were scheduled and lo and behold- the information that Maria needed to know was there. Maria then decided to explain to me that there needed to be 30 min for each appointment/for each treatment. Thank you for explaining that after my first treatment took 15 minutes, but this is not information I need to know when scheduling- since I don't give myself appointments. This is information you need to explain to whoever is scheduling so I- the customer- am not left inconvenienced. Maria then unwillingly said "I mean.. I can do it if you want to" to which I politely responded by saying " I wouldn't want to inconvenience you, however if I had known that you didn't have time to do both, I would've wanted to know and choose which treatment to get accordingly."

As you can imagine I am never planning on going to this location ever again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I would however highly recommend Folly Beach location for waxing and North Charleston for IPL treatment.
