First Niagara Bank - State Street Branch

Been having issues with this bank since I open up my checking account, my debit card don't work , it took me 1 week to set up my banking online because of passwords they where given that didn't work and then the service sucks ...I hate this bank and I'm closing my account asap!!

Disgraceful. This bank will ruin your life. The staff is trained to be both unhelpful and dishonest. I would absolutely NOT recommend First Niagara.

was charged $160.00 in fees for a total of $23.00 in Debit card transactions within a 24 Hr period because of insuffecient funds. why didnt they just block my card.

Be aware. First Niagara won't set up an overdraft from you savings account to your checking. They also have a disgraceful business practice of changing the order of transactions so that withdrawals come first and then deposits so that they can claim Non Sufficient Funds and swipe $33 from their customers accounts. They'll do a 'courtesy one time a year reversal even if you can show that your deposit slip or transfer was done before the checks cleared. They like to lecture customers instead of looking at and fixing their own disgraceful business tactics.

It's nice that First Niagara offer's School Banking, but I've found that it's a week between the date when my son makes his deposit and when they actually post the deposit to his account. Even though I know the PTA rep making the deposit to the bank does it the same day.
