BEST WESTERN Roker Hotel

Stayed in August. What a nightmare. Originally booked into Beach Lodge which was being renovated. Moved to the Roker Hotel and had 2 totally sleepless nights.
DO NOT STAY THERE.
I was advised to e mail tavistock about my experience. Still waiting for the result of their so called investigation and it's October.
Obviously they could not care less. Take no notice of their responses to the same issue with other customers, about ensuring they give you the best customer experience. They are fully aware of the noise issues, but continue placing people in the rooms most affected.

Friendly and efficient staff. Good room. Large bathroom. Location is a little distant from town and stadium of light. Good bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay. The choice of food and drinks would be hard to beat. The staff are second to none polite,attentive,there to make you're stay the best it can be.

Very nice stay in this beach front hotel. The room I was staying in has recently been updated in a modern nautical theme. This is my third stay here, it's a great hotel if you need to be near Newcastle and Sunderland but not in the centre.
There are two restaurants in the hotel, my favourite is the very good pub grub one, they have a number of good beers on tap and a gin distillery. Their own gin can be bought at reception.
The only negative thing, if you have a sea view room, if it's foggy the very loud fog horn on the harbour rattles the windows.

Right on seafront has it's own public bar "Poetic Licences" ales and stuff at right prices, restaurant and pizza and cafe on site. Staff really helpful and polite.
Only down point was the not very well swept floor in breakfast area. Bacon and sausage could have been cooked a bit longer but good selection it might just be me being picky.
