I reserved a Pickup truck from this location, which included a $150.00/ 24 hour cancellation fee. I was called the day before the rental and told that they did not have a truck for me and asked if I could rent something else. I mentioned that I was moving someone, so I needed the truck, and the gentleman said he would get back to me, which he did not. I assumed that everything was ok at that point, as I had secured the reservation.

The website for that location had hours posted from 8-2pm on Saturday as of the day I secured the rental (May 14). I flew into Boston from California on the red eye, and it took a while to get transportation to the airport in Worchester, so I missed the 11:00am pickup time on the contract. I was there at 1:20pm, and as a Hertz Gold member, I have never had trouble picking up a car 2 hours after the time on the contract when my travel plans have been delayed, so I did not think I needed to call.

When I got to the Hertz rental desk at the airport (1:25pm), the desk was closed. At that time, there was another customer there trying to return a car who was also quite frustrated. He had come to this Hertz location because of the hours posted on the website as well, and wanted to turn in his car. I called Hertz to file a compliant, and I was told that my reservation had been cancelled because I did not pick up the car by 12:00pm. In addition, I had been assessed the $150.00 cancellation fee. I see now that the closing time posted on the website has been changed from 2pm to 12:00noon for Saturday and Sunday. This has changed since 5/14. I was not told of the change by the Hertz representative when I was called about the reservation the day before.

The representative I spoke with by phone (around 2 pm after an on hold wait time of 12 minutes) was very polite and she filed a petition for me to waive the cancellation fee due to the circumstances. I hope that Hertz does not choose to charge me the $150.00, which if so, I will strongly contest. I had to go elsewhere to find a car. I was never able to find a truck.

Called to pick up a car already reserved and at 11.00 am no one was there to even answer my phone call.

They let me reserve a car and then promptly left early and no one helped me get my car. So I rented from Budget, who were there and helpful. This is the 2nd time, so apparently they dont want the business.
