Avis Car Rental

Never, I repeat, never rent a car here. I have never had such a terrible experience and it wasn’t even me who rented the car! After a car accident my mother needed a rental, and they were great at first. Then days later they suddenly called telling her she stole the car and it needed to be returned immediately. As my mother is a visiting nurse, she said ok, I’m working and I’ll have it there by 530. Needless to say, their “investigator” who went by the name of Jerry Lewis continued calling throughout the day. We brought the car as we said, and over an hour later, “Jerry Lewis” texted again saying he would like the car returned immediately. To which we replied, it’s been there over an hour.

Now two later, they charged my elderly mother (without authorization mind you) $500+ in turn over drafting her bank account. They wouldn’t work with the insurance company and are still refusing to be of any assistance and give any explanation. I’m disgusted. This treatment is unacceptable, especially for a working elderly woman.

I have a lot of choices when it comes to renting cars for my travels, but wouldn't think of going anywhere but the Avis location on Grove St. in Worcester. They are always making sure I have a great car, clean, and waiting for me when I need to pick it up. Often I am having to get a car on Sunday for an early meeting Monday or I may have to extend my trip and they are always accommodating, and making sure my experience will be PERFECT. They have even brushed off and shoveled around my personal car so that when I return my rental (often late at night), I won't have to worry about that either. Once, my personal car broke down, and I was very late for a client meeting. I was able to call them, and have a car waiting for me in 15 minutes. That is customer service like no other. I appreciate every day what they do for me, making sure at least one part of my business trip will be completely successful and hassle free.
