Not the most imaginative name but Book and Kitchen is full of surprises. A beautiful house-turned-shop tucked away from chaotic Portobello Road. Great haven for book/food/music lovers, a flurry of events/talks for the curious and a hidden peaceful garden in the basement to sip a freshly made watermelon juice in the sun.

Dungarees and Birkenstocks... A menu that made me crave licking the inside of rabbit hutch... And a red wine list of two, one of which was tagged as "vegan organic". Return? I'd rather walk face first into a propeller.

Love that place and when I was visited and there very lovely owner who really welcome and lots of talk about books. It also have a beautiful character cafe at downstairs and sell with fair trade food products. I would love to come back again

Possibly the best book shop in London. Great selection of both new and old books with excellent curation and advice. Add to that the incredible cafe at the heart of it and you have one of my favorite spaces. The sunken garden in the back is spectacular in the summer. Brilliant.
