Big spacious, well equipped gym. The building itself is showing its age a bit - but the equipment is fine. The pool's a bonus and rarely gets too busy.

Great Gym. Just don't bother with cafe. They ALWAYS are out of stock. ALWAYS give the same lame excuse - we're waiting for a delivery. Zzzz. Got a feeling they just can't be bothered to cook anything for you.

Women have their own sauna and steam room, good facilities and quite clean. The only thing i do no like this gym is i find one of the staff is rude. Am still in the lounge working on my computer, she turns off the light half an hour before ten in the evening. She does it quite often. They should switch off light when lounge is empty.

Has wide open spaces and great facilities. However, it also becomes overcrowded for most of the the day. I would suggest Virgin Active if they cared more about the individual and less about your paycheck.

Some advice before joining:

1: wait for the right deal. Do not, I repeat, do not join in a rush. They will have special contract deals when it suits them or they can make money. So, wait till the opportunity arises for a good deal because you are literally entering into a year contract with them, of which, they do not care about your circumstances or you.

2: give them notice before you leave otherwise they'll charge you for not using their facilities.

3: considering how overcrowded their facilities are and the price, it's not worth it. So, if you must, wait till there's a contract that suits your financial budget.

4: also, not so important, do not buy their food. It's awful and they overcharge you.

Thank you for your reply Sophie. I appreciate you're trying to make Virgin Active look appealing, however, if you really cared about your customers you'd be more accommodating and understanding to people's situation, and when I mean you, I mean your company, because you probably don't care about Virgin Active and are only doing this as a job.

1st: I am a full time student, and when I joined, there were no student deals for me. However, a few days later, a student deal opened up that charged £45 instead of £75. I am a diabetic, so I have to exercise and I am also a student and a potential long term customer. If you guys cared about that, you'd refund me 13 months of the £35 increase.

2nd: I gave a week notice to leave the gym. I know I'm supposed to give a month notice(because I'm moving to a new house). However, I haven't and now I've payed 1 extra month(under threat of collectors), £75, of not going at all. Could you refund that? I didn't think so.

I realize this is my fault, but if Virgin Active cannot appreciate and support their customers and their situation then they show very little empathy and will LOSE customer loyalty. I have been a Virgin member in the past but no more. Neither will I email or contact you guys. How far would I go with people that threatened to call the collectors on me if I didn't pay the last month, of which, I will not attend 1 day of gym.

I only ask people to know who they are dealing with BEFORE they join Virgin Active.

I will always love this Virgin Active as my favourite - there are improvements that could me made to both this club and Nottingham but I am sure they will be made in time. In its price range it is the best there is in NW London. The atmosphere is good and it's always easy to meet old training partners
