This place is a dump. Showers are rubbish, the people who go there are low paid receptionists chasing the PT’s, generally do not visit. Remember the towel scandal? Enough said, visit virgin instead. This place is cramped you will not have time to work out peacefully

Great trainers - pool area and changing rooms could do with fixing and modernising

Very small, very cramped and it's way too hot in the changing rooms (even though there are now 2 giant fans in there) and in the weights area. Staff aren't that friendly and I will definitely not be renewing my membership when the time comes. I'll be going somewhere with decent air con!

Been going there for a month now, between 6 - 8 am. Staff are friendly, pool is NICE, Jacuzzi has worked every time I've been there. Probably busy because it is in the City - obvious (if you go to a bank in the City surprisingly that will also be busy, or a restaurant or ANYWHERE else ;) ). Cant fault it and will be joining soon. Haven't used the gym equipment, but it looks new, well laid out and clean (otherwise I would have given 5 stars). There has always been s shower that has been available and plenty of locker spaces.

The place is small but well equipped. Not fun when busy, it feels like a supermarket deli counter where you need to take a ticket and wait for your number to be called to use certain equipment. But generally it's not like that all the time. Staff are nice enough and the gym is kept as well presented as possible.

The administration and logistics side of Bannatynes however, is super dire. This doesn't relate to tower 42 specifically as the staff are only doing their best and as they are told. I was paying a rolling contract price and accepted the offer of committing to a year with a fairly decent discounted price. Then my access stopped. After a couple of months (yes, a couple of months) of no access and trying to figure out what the problem was, it turned out the one year commitment I signed up to was the wrong plan. I'd been put on a lower tier access that didn't include Tower 42. But rather than acknowledging any fault, they increased my monthly price and then also charged me an admin fee for the pleasure. So now my new discounted price is actually more than I was paying in the first place on the rolling contract. Leaves a bitter taste in the mouth when it feels like you have been fleeced a bit.
