They simply get you mortgages in the most complex situations. I've tried other brokers and always end up coming back. Capital Fortune have a wide network of lenders and can utilise their resources to narrow down choices based on individual circumstances. Rob and David have put together a great team. Thanks for everything CF! Be back in a few years!

BUY-TO-LET MORTGAGE

Once again I wish to thank CAPITAL FORTUNE for sorting out my BUY-TO-LET mortgage, especially to PETER BARTLETT.

Recently completed an expat mortgage using Capital Fortune.

I would not recommend, their service is over priced to say the least! £1400+ to do a mediocre job of arranging the mortgage. Don't expect them to do anything in a hurry and expect to deal with approx 4-6 different people in the process. After not hearing a word for weeks I ended up having to contact the lender myself (surely what I'm paying the broker to do?) and was told they were awaiting documents. Turned out that capital fortune had lost something and failed to tell myself or the lender delaying the process by around 21days.

I've used other brokers in the past that do not charge but simply take s commission and I have to say they did a much better job.

Yes, capital fortune found us a deal but don't expect much in terms of leg work once they've got half your money.

Their biggest problem is communication and organisation, I've lost count of the amount of times they asked for the same information despite providing it before. They also have a habit of returning emails at close of play and then conveniently being away from their desks the following day making it impossible to get information etc quickly.

Overall they got us a product but didn't really do much else. Save yourself £1400 and go to someone who will actually work for your hard earned cash!

After initial consultation I decided to proceed with Capital Fortune (CF) for my first time buyer mortgage. The total fee for their service is £1499 of which £799 had to be paid up front. CF was quick to suggest a lender for me but I doubt if they do an extensive search of the market contrary to what they proclaim. Another broker sourced me a lender with significantly better rates and the lender was disclosed to CF. Despite receiving the name of the alternate lender and the rates offered, my CF adviser was still very convinced that the lender he suggested was the best in the market and stated categorically that the alternate lender will not proceed to a full offer, this turned out to be incorrect on all fronts and I have received a full mortgage offer from the lender. To cut long story short, my mortgage offer comes from the biggest lender in the UK so I am shocked as to how CF were not able to suggest them to me, and they were convinced I will not receive a full offer even after I disclosed their name. Additionally to ensure that the mortgage products that they source is the best in the market, their fee should only be payable upon full application or provide the option for a refund should a client withdraw from their services with a defined time period.
