The food here is okay at best. Friends of mine got smaller dishes like the Scotch Egg and Meatballs and didn't complain. I ordered the main meal of Sausage and Mash, which on the menu is described really well. At £13 with no additional sides like vegetables or peas or anything, I was expecting it to be good. I will regurgitate and eat this meal again if I'm incorrect, but this meal was re-heated in the microwave and was just utterly unappealing. The Mash tasted like it had been frozen, had no seasoning whatsoever. The gravy was also flavourless and tasted of little more than water. The sausages were okay, but not totally hot all the way through, just warm and weren't juicy or tasty. The best thing about this meal was the crispy shallots which were probably the only part of the meal that hadn't been "cooked" by them.

I attended a family party on the 22nd of August in a private room. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful. In particular Jake who is just a super star, whatever you are paying him it is no where near enough!

This once-fantastic pub is in decline. A couple of years back Youngs converted one of the best pub rooms in London - the riverside room - into a pub restaurant. We peered in a week ago last Friday, hardly anyone in . Hardly anyone outside drinking either- we found out why . Got a pint each - asked by the staff whether we were going out so got a plastic glass , fair enough . After 10 minutes out front we we told by another member of staff that we couldn't drink outside - it was illegal, and had to finish our pints inside. Not true, as I later checked. Not many drinkers inside the bar . We asked whether we could finish our drinks in the river room , the kitchen having closed , and were refused. Prices ( like all Youngs pubs now) remain too high. This pub used to be great - great buzz both inside and out, perfect on a summer evening. Now , the consumers have moved on, and no wonder .

Lovely pub I'm a great area. Nice view of the river out the front windows. Some good beers, not a wide selection of items on the food menu. Though their chips are incredible fluffy!

I've had some great meals here and some very average ones too sadly. Today wasn't the best. £5 Scotch egg with over cooked egg but barely cooked meat. Lovely barmaid made good drinks suggestions. Great location on river but don't expect a bargain
