We waited a long time (more than 1 hour), on our feets, with not even a glass of water or an excuse from the people who work there. AVOID these rental cars at the train station !

I returned the car to this location. It is not easy to find. First, set the address in your GPS or google map. Second, when you arrive you will see taxi line, ahead of which is the entrance/exit to train station. The pick up office is right below the entrance. Third, at the entrance, you will see the signal light, turn right at the light, you would notice the parking lot sign and car return sign with Avis and other companies' logo. Drive down to parking lot P3 then you can see the return office. I read about the reviews that people have been charged additional fees. So I choose to pay it all at first then they don't need to swipe my car anymore. Hope it helps.

Worse experience we had waited 2.30hours to get our car. It's a shame we wasted so much time. The Only car rental with a line we regret booking with Avis.

The counter is located in the arrival hall of Atocha, downstairs. If you take a taxi to Atocha from the center of town they will drop you off at the departure hall, which is a different building. You have to cross the street to where you see the giant baby head sculptures, and go downstairs from there. We rented from Avis because everyone else was sold out, or like Enterprise, quoted us 1,000€ for a two day rental. You must shop around. The Avis agent we met that day was very friendly, though he didn't look it at first. The car pick up lot is quite a walk from the rental counter. You have to go through the parking lot, go down the ramp and in the distance you will see the rental car lot. It's a pain to find. Be sure you set your GPS to have the car rental return address included.
