Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

Adventure White Mountain

Kanchanjangha Base Camp Trek takes you to the vicinity of Mount Kanchenjunga in the eastern region of Nepal. This is a fairly challenging Trek but is properly guided by our certified service professional. Mt. Kanchanjangha is the third highest mountain in the world with a peak altitude of 8, 586 meters above the sea level. In Nepal, it is the second highest peak but far less frequent than the first one. It is the very reason why you’ll find it detached from the world - fascinating, majestic and challenging.

Our Trek begins with a quick flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. From the airport, we drive north to a hilly town called Taplejung. Taplejung is where our actual Trek begins. As the region distinctly lacks tourism infrastructure, your main support will be your guide. Throughout the Trek, your guide will take you and your team there and back safely, with lots of memorable experiences. As you go upwards, you will notice that the range itself is conjoint of smaller mountains that are at the border of Nepal, Sikkim, and Tibet. At the upper belts of your Trek, the geography is lined with the dramatic landscape, dense vegetation, evergreens and pockets of settlements in the hills. You will also encounter isolated hamlets and villages, mountains at close quarters that are always veiled in mist, and probably the most distinct element of this Trek - an expanse of rhododendron forests. The people inhabiting this area are mostly the Sherpa, Rai, and Limbu who have created a unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism and practice the associated traditions.

A Trek to Kanchanjangha Base Camp takes about four weeks. It is remote and full of natural beauty. An experience of many beautiful vistas, which might even appear surreal, is one of the chief attractions of this Trek. Reaching the Base Camp might sound like just another one in Nepal, but it is not. The region is completely different, providing an adrenaline-filled experience. Each day you are expected to walk around six to seven hours on average and is required to have above-average fitness and stamina. The best time to visit this region is from late March to late June and from mid-September to mid-November.
