Travel advices and warnings Denmark
Tourism Tourists in Denmark consist mainly of people from neighboring countries, especially Germany, followed by Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands. With 4. 7 million visitor arrivals in 2007, Denmark ranked 43rd in the UNWTO's World Tourism rankings. Statistics show, however, that the total annual number of overnight stays in Denmark is currently declining.
Denmark has many sandy beaches which attract mainly German tourists. Swedish and Norwegian tourists often come to visit the relatively lively city of Copenhagen while many young Scandinavians come for Denmark's cheap and readily accessible beer, wines and spirits.
Culture

Cuisine Danish cuisine (Danish: Dansk køkken) is shaped by the practice of fishing and farming, including the cultivation of the soil for raising crops and the raising of domesticated animals, and the history of Denmark. Danish cuisine is known for its open sandwiches (Smørrebrød), meat balls (Frikadeller) and sweet pastry. When it comes to drinking, Denmark is known for its beer (Carlsberg and Tuborg are world famous breweries) and its bitters, such as Gammel Dansk.
Language Danish (dansk, pronounced [danˀsɡ̊] ( listen); dansk sprog, [ˈdanˀsɡ̊ ˈsb̥ʁɔʊ̯ˀ]) is a North Germanic language spoken by around six million people, principally in the country of Denmark. It is also spoken by 50, 000 Germans of Danish ethnicity in the northern parts of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, where it holds the status of minority language. [2] Danish is a mandatory subject in school in the Danish crown territories of the Faroe Islands (where it is also an official language after Faroese) and Greenland (where, however, the only official language since 2009 is Kalaallisut), as well as the former crown holding of Iceland. There are also Danish language communities in Argentina, the U. S. and Canada. It is, to a considerable extent, mutually intelligible with the Norwegian Bokmål and to a lesser extent with Swedish.
Shopping Shopping in Denmark is always a double-edged sword – it’s no secret the prices are high, but the quality of craftsmanship is often beyond compare. The Danish, like their Nordic compatriots, are world famous when it comes to furniture. It was out of this industry that Denmark found its defining export – the Lego block. One of the world’s premier toys for children of all ages, they are popular enough to warrant their own theme park.
Currency The krone (sign: kr; code: DKK) is the currency of the Kingdom of Denmark. The krone is pegged to the euro via the European Union's exchange rate mechanism. The plural of krone is kroner. The krone is divided into 100 øre, the singular form being the same as the plural. The ISO 4217 code is DKK; the domestic abbreviation is "kr. " Occasionally, the variants DKR or Dkr are seen, but these are not official. The currency is sometimes informally referred to as the "Danish crown" in English (since krone literally means crown in the Danish language).

From wikipedia about Denmark

Denmark. It is the southernmost of the Nordic countries, southwest of Sweden and south of Norway, and bordered to the south by Germany. Denmark borders both the Baltic and the North Sea. The country consists of a large peninsula, Jutland (Jylland) and many islands, most notably Zealand (Sjælland), Funen (Fyn), Vendsyssel-Thy (commonly considered a part of Jutland), Lolland, Falster and Bornholm, as well as hundreds of minor islands often referred to as the Danish Archipelago. Denmark has long controlled the approach to the Baltic Sea (dominium maris baltici); before the digging of the Kiel Canal, water passage to the Baltic Sea was possible only through the three channels known as the "Danish straits".
