The last time I went to Villa Danieli was good yet horrifying. Let's talk about the good part of VD, they were very flexible with me decorating the place for a private birthday celebration. The main reason for me to have planned out a birthday celebration party for my fiancee was that VD was once known as the best Italian restaurant from a friend of mine. Aside from that, they do offer a 50% discount for Maybank Amex card owners. However, the biggest disappointment with VD was their food. We came in a group of 14 person, ordered various dishes from pastas to pizzas and more.
First of all, The chicken that we ordered was small in portion, but the main issue for it is that the whole dish was literally tasteless. It simply taste like a normal steam chicken you cooked at home for diet plans.
Secondly, the steaks was almost counted as raw even we told them how we would like it to be done. We asked for a replacement, they took the steak back and has never come back for more than 40 minutes. Upon asking, they came back with sorry there aren't any steak left to cook. We made a complain to the manager that they should have told us way before that after having us waiting for more than 40 minutes. Then the manager went back to kitchen and check and somehow he managed to get another piece of steak for us. Not took sure where did that steak came from after being told that there weren't any steak left 10 minutes ago.
The pizzas that we ordered was horrible, the pizza was extremely salty and are unable to consume at any point. We ask whether is this how it was supposed to be done. They checked and came back to us with a replacement pizza. However the replacement pizza was extremely soggy and we asked to talk to the chef. The chef came to us with a reluctant attitude after being told the pizzas was horrible. The chef said it was supposed to be like that, he's not being apologetic at all, he turned his back on us and head back to the kitchen without a single word. The waiter came back with another pizza, the texture was good, taste as well. (We did not ask for a replacement) However, judging from his facial expression and attitude earlier we are afraid that he might add a little "extra" success in or pizzas. Hence, my friend only took a slice and stopped eating after.
Last but not least, the pastas. Not to mention, once again. It's tasteless. It's the same with the chicken we had earlier. This time, we told them it's the same thing for all 3 plates of pastas. But only asked them to change one of it. The new pastas came back being the same, only a little salty compared to the previous one. We were left speechless, so the rest just forget about it and continue with their pastas.
I can't remember much about other dishes but definitely it's not good enough for me to remember it.
If the food is as bad as this, even a 50% discount won't help at all. Sorry but to say that this will definitely be the last time I will ever go to Villa Danieli.

The very worst dining experience in South East Asia (service / quality of food / if you are 4, expect the courses to be brought 1 by 1 every 10 min over 40 min)... incredible in Sheraton
